Originally from Chicago, Illinois, life’s many twists and turns have led Heather to settle in Calgary, Alberta. Coming from an extensive graphic design career and fast paced uptown art exhibits in Chicago, for Heather as an artist, the close proximity of the prairies, foothills and mountains of Alberta and BC makes for a never-ending calling to be creative.
Heather’s motivation and inspiration come from the movement and colors of her environment. Her paintings are a suggestion of what she encounters and their interpretation is subject to what she is feeling at that moment. Her use of bold vivid colors and movement provide the viewer with a truly introspective experience creating and evoking a distinctive sense of emotion. Enjoy her unique style and magnificent use of color as you escape into one of her many scenes of Birch Trees, Mountain Peaks, Rivers, Lakes and Waterfalls.
Heather is a self-taught artist who has been painting in oils and acrylics since the 1980s, and professionally since the 1990s. As a member for many years of the Chicago Artist Coalition and the Wheaton Art League she has participated in several gallery openings and art exhibits. Her paintings are collected internationally and are held in both corporate and private collections. Currently living in Calgary she would like to share with you her body of work, experiences and appreciation for Alberta and British Columbia’s beauty, color and textures.
Heather also annually donates select pieces of her work in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund and Kathy’s Run in support of fighting and finding a cure for Pancreatic Cancer.
